Ondo Election: Governor Akeredolu Flags Off Campaign

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has flagged off his campaign rally at the Akure township stadium on Saturday, September 5, gunning for re-election. Akeredolu is seeking a return to the office on the platform of the ruling APC in the election scheduled to hold on October 10, 2020. He has his deputy, Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party; and Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party as his main challengers in the election. All Progressives Congress chieftains including former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; and former Osun State Governor, Chief Bisi Akande, on Saturday, arrived in Akure, the Ondo State capital, for the flag-off rally of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu re-election campaign.

Governor of Ekiti state Kayode Fayemi, and that of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, were also in attendance.

One of the APC stalwarts in the state Paul Akintelure, described the event as one which will leave an indelible mark on the state, he also said the mammoth crowd that are gathered at the event show that Governor Akeredolu has the heart of the Ondo people.

Another politician Mr. Ojobo said they are ready to canvass for votes from all units the units, wards, local governments, and that, once they leave the venue they will not rest on their oars to ensure they garner support for the honored governor, adding that they are sure they will win.

INEC had fixed October 10 to conduct the governorship election across the wards in all local government areas of the state.
