Saudi Arabia Lifts Travel Ban On Nigeria, 16 Others

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has lifted the ban on direct flights from Nigeria and 16 other countries imposed on following the discovery of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 in South Africa. According to Saudi Gazette, the country announced the resumption of direct flights from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Malawi, Mauritius, Zambia, Madagascar, Angola, Seychelles, the United Republic of Comoros, Ethiopia, and Afghanistan.

Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), has alleged that there is a plot to murder him after he was summoned by the Catholic Diocese of Enugu in May 2021. Mbaka disclosed this when he addressed worshippers at the Adoration ground in Enugu on Saturday during his New Year message. He recounted that in May, some residents of Enugu took to the streets to protest over the whereabouts of Mbaka who was alleged to be missing. The priest later resurfaced and said he was summoned by Callistus Onaga, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Enugu, who wanted to shut his ministry over his recent comments concerning Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and his connection to the presidency. Father Mbaka, said the plotters were also planning to frame him using prostitutes. He claimed that the plot was to kidnap him and drag him through a spot where prostitutes reside in Enugu, after which he would be recorded naked.
