The Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed has revealed today Friday 11th June 2021, the dismissal of the acting director-general of the National Broadcasting Commission Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, and to be replaced by Balarabe Ilelah as instructed by president Mohammadu Buhari.
This is coming amid the hurly-burly surrounding the suspension of the social media platform (Twitter) by the president a week ago. The commission had also asked all social media platforms and online broadcasting service providers in Nigeria to apply for a broadcast license.
The newest NBC boss appointment is for a tenure of five years as stated in the statement.
