Insecurity: Service Chiefs Know What They Are Doing – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has yesterday said, his services Chiefs are doing their best to keep the country safe amidst the insecurity that is troubling the country. Buhari stated this while speaking to Journalist shortly after he arrived from his London Medical trip that lasted for two weeks, where he also gave insight on issues surrounding the appointment of the new Inspector general of Police (IGP).

Speaking on the performance of the service Chiefs, Buhari said, “Oh yes, they have been in the system all the way, they know what is wrong, they know what is right and I think they are doing their best. I hope their best will be good enough for Nigeria.”

While reacting to what he will be expecting from the new IGP, as he was appointed while he was in London, the Nigerian leader said, “Well, we went through the system, there was a committee by the Minister of Police Affairs. “They gave me some names and he happened to be the one chosen. He knows his job, he has been in it for a long time, he went through all the training, and he has the necessary experience. So, we have a high expectation from him.”

Speaking further on what Nigerians should expect from his administration going forward after he must have enjoyed some rest in London Buhari said, “Continuity”.

Reacting to the question on how he felt in London about his medical trip, Buhari responded by saying, “it all went well” after your good wishes.

The presidential aircraft landed in Abuja at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport landed at about 4:45 pm.

President Buhari had left Nigeria for a routine medical check-up in London, the United Kingdom on 30th March 2021.

During his arrival yesterday at the Airport to welcome him were his service Chiefs and some aides; his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari; Minister f FCT, Mohammed Bello, and the National Security Adviser, Major Gen. Babagana Monguno (Rtd).

Other top officials were; the Acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba; DG NIA, Ahmed Rufa’i, Director General of the DSS, Yusuf Bichi.

After protocols at the Airport, Buhari joined the presidential helicopter that whisked him to the state House.
