Insurgency: Boko Haram Commanders, Foot Soldiers Captured

Troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole, Maiduguri have reportedly captured ten (10) suspected BokoHaram commanders during raids on the terrorists’ hideouts in Borno State. The disclosure was made by the theatre Media Coordinator, Col. AminuIlliyasu, in a statement on Saturday. 

He revealed that the troops have equally stepped up the effective blockade of BokoHaram’s logistics supply routes and arrested some of their key logistics suppliers. “During a successful sting operation conducted on 9th October 2019 by troops of the 26Task Force Brigade, 10 suspected key BokoHaram members were reportedly captured while attempting to sneak into some communities around Bitta in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State in a bid to escape the troops’ sustained onslaught against them. 

Col. Illiyasu noted that preliminary investigation reveals that the arrested criminals are ranked higher than the Amir in the insurgent's hierarchyHe further disclosed that many of them have been identified to have operated combat vehicles during the infamous BokoHaram attack on Gwoza in 2014. 

The names of the arrested are listed as; Shettima Mustapha Umar, Abba BujiAlhajiBukarMadu-(KAHIDBokoHaram terrorists’ equivalent of a Brigadier General), Ali Hassan (BokoHaram Terrorist Imam), Alkali LaminuBukur Mustapha, BubaUmaru (Alias Black Uhuru) also a KAHIDMaduNosobe, Mustapha Hussaine and UmarJeddum all from BamaLGA of Borno State.
