Amidst unabated banditry that has continued to frustrate activities in North-west zone, the Daura Emirate council in Katsina state, the country home to President Buhari has suspended all festivities for the next week Sallah celebration.

Musa Umar Uba, the Magajin Garin Daura who was abducted since 1st May 2019 is still in captivity with his abductors. As at yesterday, no link of any form of communication has been established between his family and his abductors.

The continuous detention of the Magajin Gari in the hand of his abductors might have triggered the Emirate into taking the decision to mourn with the victim being one of its high ranking chief of the Emirate.

The Emir of Daura, Umar Faruk, in a statement through one of the palace chief, Abdulmumini Salihu, the Denaji of Daura Emirate disclosed, aside from the Eid prayer, all other activities including durbar are hereby suspended.

Meanwhile, special prayers have been directed to be offered at every five daily prayer including Juma’at prayers across the Emirate for divine intervention.

The Emirate has continued to call on the federal government to step up the security apparatus to bring the menace to an end.
