Buhari Executive Order 10: Supreme Court Declare It Unconstitutional

The Supreme Court has today declared that Executive Order 10 (EO10) signed by President Buhari on Judicial and Legislative autonomy is illegal, unlawful, and unconstitutional. During the seven-man panel sitting of today at the apex court, a split decision of six to one was issued declaring the Executive order assigned by Buhari to have overreached his constitutional powers in issuing the order.

Council Polls: Police Restricts Movement In FCT

In view of the upcoming area council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) scheduled for Saturday, February 12, the FCT Police command announced on Thursday that there will be a restriction of movement. This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command, DSP Josephine Adeh. 286 Americans, Europeans And Others Are Now Nigerian Citizens

A total of about 286 foreigners who are originally citizens of America, Europe, and others were granted the right to be citizens of Nigeria. This is amidst some Nigerian citizens desperately crossing the desert into Europe in search of greener pasture and eventual grabbing of a green card. The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola stated this today Wednesday, 09th February 2022, while speaking during the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Reps Declare National Emergency Over Ritual Killing, Task IGP To Act

The Federal House of representative has declared a national emergency on the increasing spate of ritual killings in the country. The lawmakers called on the Inspector General of Police to rise to his task and bring the perpetrators to book before it spread like wildfire.
The Reps members also called on the Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board to increase monitoring of video produced with ritual killing contents by ensuring that the part containing the ritual part is not allowed into the public space.

ISWAP Threat: Governor Zulum Warning Should Be Taken Seriously – Ortom To FG

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has called on the Federal Government to take proactive steps as a matter of urgency to nip in the bud, activities of the Islamic state for West African Province (ISWAP) as warned by Governor Zulum. Ortom made the call while receiving a delegation of the Victim Support Fund (VSF), led by, Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Makurdi, the state capital.
