The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) has today announced its readiness to get back to work if the federal government agreed to pay their outstanding salaries.

The Ibadan Zonal Coordinator of the union, Prof. Adejumo disclosed this during a press conference held at the faculty of Art, the University of Ibadan despite ongoing negotiations between the union and the federal government as the government has pay deaf ear to their salaries and allowances during this period of industrial action.

Prominent persons during the conference were; Moyosore Ajawo (Uniilorin), Prof. Ayo Akinwole (UI), Dr. Biodun Olaniran (LAUTECH), Dr. Femi Abanikanda (UniOsun), and Dr. Dauda Adesola (KWASU).

After seven months of industrial action, the ASUU revealed that when the federal government is ready to offset their outstanding salaries and allowances, the union would resume its duty with immediate effect.
