JAMB Reschedules Mock Exams For April 9

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that the mock examination for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which was earlier scheduled to hold on April 16 would now hold on April 9.

2022 WASSCE: WAEC Reverses No NIN, No Exam Policy

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has declared that prospective school candidates without the National Identification Number (NIN) will have the chance to write this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The council’s Head of National Office (HNO), Mr. Patrick Areghan, gave the assurance yesterday, at a conference to announce the release of results of the WASSCE 2021 for Private Candidates Second Series on Monday in Lagos. Areghan was speaking against the backdrop of worry expressed by some parents, following the recent collapse of the NIMC portal.

ASUU Strike Hit Brick-Wall As FG Declared Industrial Action Illegal

The Federal Government has declared the industrial actions embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian University as illegal. The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, stated this shortly after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting held at the State House yesterday. Adamu Adamu disclosed that the renegotiation was still ongoing with the ASUU official when they jumped the gun and declared an industrial action prior to the conclusion of negotiation with the Federal Government.

ASUU Declared Pantami’s Professorship Illegal, Vow To Sanction FUTO

The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) has revealed it would go after its members at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) who conferred a professorship on the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami. The Academic body declared Pantami’s professorship as “illegal” saying one cannot be in the Minister's office and be in the classroom at the same time.
