Security Agencies in Ondo state are on the trail of bandits who reportedly kidnapped 32 persons while traveling in a coastal bus from Benin City, Edo State on Saturday evening. It was gathered that they were abducted between Benin-Ifon to Owo forest in Ondo State, after attending a burial ceremony.

Confirming the development, the Ondo State security network code-named Amotekun, said its men together with security agencies had already commenced combing the area in search of the victims.

The commandant of Amotekun corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleke, said the command would do all its power to rescue the victims and rid the state of criminals.

Similarly, the police in the State have confirmed the murder and discovery of the mutilated body of a director in the Ondo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Gbenga Olofingboyegun, in Akure.

Mr. Olofingboyegun was the Director of the Department of Research and Statistics in TESCOM.

He was declared missing on Thursday after he left the office for undisclosed reasons, but his decomposing body was found on Sunday morning at St Theresa’s Primary School in Akure.

His family had suspected he was kidnapped for ransom and waited for calls from his abductors.

Efforts to trace him were fruitless until his decomposing body was found in Saint Theresa Primary School beside Saint Peter’s Unity School in Akure.

The deceased was found without his head and his organs and intestines were removed.
