Heavy security arrangement was observed on Monday morning at the Federal High Court, Abuja, where the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, will resume. The security convoy that brought Kanu into the court premises arrived at about 8 am for his appearance before Justice Binta Nyako.

Kanu was recently apprehended in a yet to be disclosed country in June 2021 and returned to Nigeria to resume his trial after he jumped bail in September 2017. His family and lawyers, however, claimed he was arrested in Kenya.

Meanwhile, only accredited journalists were allowed access to the courtroom as heavy security presence is witnessed in and around the court to forestall possible breakdown of law and order.
