An aide to President Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Anochie has disclosed that Nigerians who live a fake life on social media that in actual sense they cannot afford shall henceforth be subjected to probe by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practice Commission (ICPC).
Onochie made this known today through her official Twitter handle, saying such persons shall be invited by the anti-graft agencies to explain their sources of wealth and properties they flaunt.
The tweet reads, “Lifestyle Audit is now legal in Nigeria. Those who flaunt lifestyles they cannot afford can now be investigated by any of the graft agencies to produce evidence of the sources of their wealth. You can now be called upon to explain how you acquired certain properties. -@ICPC_PE.”
Last week Vigil360 reported that the EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, had last week demanded that from June 1st 2021, his office shall demand assets declaration form from bank employees.
Bawa revealed that the decision was in line with the provision of the bank, Employee Declaration of Assets Act and shall be enforced henceforth.
