The Department of States Services (DSS) has alerted the general public about a plan by enemies of the state with their foreign collaborators to cause religious crises across the country.

The secret police disclosed that the states on the target list are Lagos, Kano, Rivers, Plateau, Oyo, and some south-eastern states.

Contained in a statement signed by the spokesperson of the DSS, Dr. Peter Afunaya, the allegation revealed that part of the plan is to cause inter-religious violence as well as the use of foot soldiers to attack some worship centers, religious leaders, some vulnerable and critical points to legitimize the attack.

To this end, the secret police advised Nigerians to be on the lookout and try as much as possible to avoid disagreements that would lead to religious conflict in the interest of peace in the country.

According to the DSS, they have set their eyes on the suspected criminal elements that may likely execute the said plan and would not hesitate to deal with any person involved. They pleaded with their sister agencies to be on high alert not to be taken by surprise as they monitor events as it unfolds.

However, they urged the law-abiding citizens to be on the lookout in their respective neighborhoods and report any suspected movement to the law enforcement agency around them for action.
