The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu has on Friday vowed not to allow violent protests to be carried out in the country, noting that the Nigerian Police are combat-ready for any attempt in the breakdown of law and order. Adamu made this known during a meeting with command commissioners of police in Abuja, saying masterminds of the violence during the #EndSARS protest in Edo state including inmates that escaped from the Edo Correctional Centre have been arrested.

Following the bail application hearing of Borno South Senator, Ali Ndume on Thursday over his suretyship for the former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina who was adjudged to have jumped bail, the Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed Friday for the ruling on Ndume's bail application. The presiding judge, Justice Okon Abang adjourned the ruling after the Senator's lawyer, Marcel Oru argued the bail application was opposed by the legal counsel of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
