JUST IN: Armed Men Invade UNIABUJA Staff Quarters, Abducts Professor, Others

According to reports, armed men stormed the Senior Staff Quarters of the University of Abuja, Gwagwalada, Abuja on Tuesday morning. Gunmen attacked the staff quarters located at Giri in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Tuesday morning at 1 am. The attack was confirmed by the university’s spokesman, Habib Yakoob, and also confirmed on the university’s official Facebook page. Orji Kalu Faces Fresh Retrial In Alleged N7.1b Fraud

The Federal Government, yesterday asked the Court of Appeal in Abuja to order his fresh trial in an alleged N7.1 billion money laundering case. The FG is praying with the court to void and set aside the September 29, 2021 judgement of the Federal High Court, which prohibited it from retrying the former governor and his firm, Slok Nigeria Limited, over an alleged N7.1 billion fraud. The FG, acting through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), also desires to court to order Kalu and Slok to submit themselves for retrial in line with the order of the Supreme Court in it May 8, 2020 judgment voiding the earlier trial and conviction of Kalu and two others, and ordering a retrial.

I Haven't Received Any Formal Extradition Request For Abba Kyari - IGP Usman

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba has said he is not aware of any request for the extradition of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari. He spoke on Thursday while briefing State House reporters at the Ministerial briefing, organised by the Presidential Communication Team, at the State House, Abuja. Speaking on the embattled Kyari, and the famed extradition request made by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation for the senior officer, the IGP said he had yet to receive any such request. On August 26, IGP Baba, received the report of the panel set up to probe the bribery allegations against Kyari over his alleged relationship with Hushpuppi, the self-confessed international fraudster. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had earlier revealed how Kyari allegedly collaborated with Hushpuppi to jail one of the latter’s associates, after a dispute over a $1.1 million scam on Qatari business people.

Anambra Poll: IPOB Threatens One Week Sit-At-Home Protest From Nov 5

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has threatened to declare a one week sit-at-home protest, shutting down the South East from November 5 to 10, 2021 over the continued detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. The sit-at-home order comes ahead of the Anambra State governorship election scheduled for November 6, 2021. The separatist group issued a deadline of November 4th to the Federal Government for the Kanu's or risk a week-long shutdown of activities in the South East region.
