Nigeria Records 33 Deaths From COVID-19

The death toll from the COVID¬-19 indicated an increase with 33 deaths recorded from Saturday after infection and death rates in Nigeria slowed down last week. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced this on Sunday, saying that 33 people had died from the COVID-19 on Sunday with a difference of two deaths when compared to Saturday. This brings the total death toll to 2,837 deaths. According to NCDC, 125 new infections were recorded across 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), totaling the country's infection toll to 209,298 cases.


FCT recorded 45 new cases, which are backlogs of 27 and 17 cases for October 16 and 17 respectively.


Kaduna recorded 34 cases, followed by Rivers State with 11 cases. Lagos and Osun recorded 10 cases each, while Oyo recorded 9 cases.


Also, Jigawa, Kano and Edo states recorded 2 cases each with Plateau State recording 1 case.


Meanwhile, a total of 197,143 have been successfully treated and discharged
