Muhammadu BUHARI Specialist Hospital, in Kano state, has conducted its first brain surgery. The operation which is said to be the first of its kind was conducted by a team of medical doctors at the facility which was established in early 2018 by Governor Umar Ganduje's administration.

Recall that in March 2018, Dr Umar Ganduje signed the state Ultra-Modern Specialist Hospitals Bill into Law. The law is specifically meant to boost activities of two clinics, Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital, Giginyu and Pediatric Hospital along Zoo Road in Kano metropolis.

Signing the bill at the state executive council meeting, he assured that the operations and management of the hospitals would not be business as usual. Ganduje opined that his government would not allow industrial action in the two facilities insisting:

“It will not go the way civil servants operate in other health facilities.
