The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had last night said two persons in Zamfara state have been tested positive for coronavirus.

The Governor disclosed this while addressing the media, saying the NCDC informed him.

He advised the people of the state to take all precautionary measures to avoid the spread of the deadly virus.

Governor Mutawalle has assured that his administration had already banned all gatherings including the Ramadan night prayer to arrest the spread of the disease.

He called on residents to abide by the social distancing protocols.

The governor revealed that the state has prepared an isolation centre and has already purchased relevant equipment for the fight of the disease.

Currently, over 25 states of the federation have recorded the index case of the COVID-19 across Nigeria.

The NCDC said that currently the country confirmed cases has surged to above 1000 with over thirty (30) lives lost and above 200 discharged cases.
