COVID-19: Nigeria Records 304 New Cases, Lowest In 8 Weeks

Nigeria in eight weeks has on Sunday recorded its first lowest record of confirmed COVID-19 new cases with 304, bringing the country's total to 43,841 cases, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed.

According to NCDC, the last record of cases below 310 was in on June 7, 2020, when the country recorded 206 confirmed cases. The country also, within the period of eight weeks recorded its highest with 790 cases on July 1, 2020.

The 304 confirmed cases were recorded in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Lagos State had the highest with 81 cases, FCT at second highest with 39 cases, and Abia State with 31 cases.

The other States affected include Kaduna with 24 new cases, Rivers-23, Plateau-16, Cross River-13, Ebonyi-12, Ondo-12, Ekiti-11, Edo-11, Benue-10, Nasarawa-10, Ogun-6, and Gombe-5.

However, 20,308 people have been discharged and 888 deaths recorded.

Also, the confirmed cases so far are out of over 285,000 samples tested across the 36 states and the FCT.
