The Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District in the Senate, Ben Bruce has reacted to the recent ban on the production, sale and consumption of Codeine by the Federal Government. The Common Sense Senator who condemned the ban said Nigerians should instead ban the bad governance that made the young people so desperate that they had nothing to look forward to in life.

The Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), said it received heart and lungs surgery equipment donated by Project CURE, an NGO based in Denver, United States. Professor Edmund Banwat, JUTH’s Chief Medical Director, who received the items, told newsmen that they were worth “far more than 300,000 dollars’’.

Researchers Discover New Genes Likely To Cause Immune Disorders

Researchers from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Britain have found three new genes that are likely to cause immune disorders.

The research, which was jointly undertaken by the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University (FAHAMU), University of Hong Kong, Guangzhou Medical University, and King’s College, London, was published recently in the journal Annals of Rheumatic Diseases.
