PSC Approves The Appointments 8 New DIGs

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of eight new Deputy Inspectors-General (DIG) as part of the new Management Team of the Nigeria Police Force. 


In a statement by Ikechukwu Ani the  Head, Press and Public Relation, PSC, the appointment which was based on zonal representationis with effect from 28thJanuary, 2019 was approved at the PSC’s 4th plenary meeting on Monday and Tuesday.

The new DIGs include; Aminchi Samaila Baraya, the most senior AIG and representing the North-East, Usman Tilli Abubakar, representing the North-West, Abdulmajid Ali, representing North-Central.

Other
s are Fredrick Taiwo Lakanu, representing South-West, Godwin C. Nwobodo, representing South-East, Anthony Ogbizi Micheal, representing South-South and Yakubu Jibrin, also from North-Central was considered based on seniority.

However, among the appointed DIG, Usman Yakubu was directed to proceed on terminal leave of retirement alongside seven former DIGs
