A tiger at the Bronx Zoo in New York City tested positive for the pandemic coronavirus.

This was revealed by the US Department of Agriculture, on Sunday 5th April 2020 After the affected animal developed a dry cough and loss of appetite late March alongside two Siberian tigers and three Africa lions.

The affected animal is a four years old Malayan Tiger named Nadia who allegedly contracted the virus from an infected asymptomatic zookeeper.

Although, the Chief veterinarian at the Bronx Zoo Paul Calle cautioned in a news release that it is unknown how the disease might progress in animals since Nadia's case was the first of all that a wild animal has gotten sick from COVID-19 from a person.
