Following an agreement between United States' President Donald Trump and China's President Xi Jinping at the G20 summit to suspend tariff by the U.S, both countries are set to next week resume negotiation on their failed trade deal.
The U.S delegation led by the country's Trade Representative, Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin are expected to meet their Chinese counterparts led by Vice Premier Liu He in Shanghai.
The U.S wants the negotiations to continue from where it left off when Trump accused China of backtracking previous commitments and threatening more tariffs.
China who added Commerce Minister, Zhong Shan to the delegation might, however, not be amenable after U.S banned Chinese telecom company Huawei from supplying components for its operations.
Beijing having denied allegations that Huawei posed a threat to the National security of U.S has insisted that no agreement would be reached without resolving the Huawei issue.
According to News Agency Of Nigeria (NAN), Trump held a meeting with chief executives of major US tech firms earlier this week, after disclosing that the Huawei ban would only apply to components that impact U.S national security.
