Emerging reports indicate that about 34 houses located in Southwest China were destroyed by a deadly landslide on Monday. According to Xinhua news agency, the incident led to the death of two persons while over 25 others are still missing. The report added that rescuers deployed to the affected area pulled out six persons from the rubble before medical officials confirmed two dead.
Currently, the search and rescue operation is still ongoing while Humanitarian organizations have commenced distribution of relief materials to those affected by the disaster.
In June, more than 100 people were killed after landslide buried some residents in Southwest China's province of Sichuan. Similarly, in July 63 people were killed, while over a million others were displaced by landslide in the central province of Hunan.
