The Chinese authority has reported another highest wave of coronavirus cases on Monday, as it recorded 108 new cases in 24hrs.
According to the authorities, out of the 108 new cases, 98 were cases among travellers returning from abroad, according to the National Health Commission.
According to the report, this is the highest number recorded since March 6, when the authorities counted 143 new cases.
The Chinese authority is channelling its energy on more preventive measures against the second wave of the coronavirus infections, especially among its citizens returning from outside the country.
The authority had on 28th March banned the entry of all foreigners into its country.
About 300 new cases of the COVID-19 had been recorded in the city on Saturday; this is including 100 infected persons who did not present any symptoms.
Out of the cases reported today, 10 of them were of local transmission this includes seven cases in Heilongjiang province while three cases in the southern Guangdong province.
The new wave is coming weeks after authorities had reported a stretch of days without any new case during the late March.
CNN had on Sunday reported that the African community in Guangzhou were being targeted amid prevention effort.
There were reports that Africans were kicked out of their homes and thrown out of Hotels if they had no recent travel abroad history.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement late on Sunday that it expected local authorities in Guangzhou to “reject all racist and discriminatory remarks”.
China has so far reported 82,160 coronavirus cases including 3,341 deaths and 77,663 recovered patients.
