Russian President, Vladimir Putin has vowed to carryout retaliatory action if the United States attempts to impose further sanction on Russia. Putin made this known on Thursday at a press conference held after a brief meeting with his Finish counterpart, Sauli Niinisto. He claimed that Moscow had refrain from taking action in the past but will no longer fold her arms and watch the sustenance of "insolence toward Russia".


“We are behaving in a very restrained and patient way, but at some moment we will need to respond because it’s impossible to endlessly tolerate this kind of insolence towards our country."


The United States House of Representatives had on Tuesday voted overwhelmingly in support of new sanctions on Russia over alleged interference in the country's Presidential election.


The Russian leader had denied involvement in the US election. he describe the proposed sanction as illegal and hinted that commensurate actions will be taken against the US.


"The principles of trade enshrined in the WTO are also being violated but as you know we are very patient and are being very restrained, but at some point obviously we will have to respond, we can't go on forever tolerating this boorish behavior towards our country"
