Indonesian presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto who was defeated in the recent presidential poll has vowed to challenge the April 17 election result in the Court.
Subianto’s decision was hinged on his claim of massive rigging by President Joko Widodo’s party.
Widodo won 55.5% of votes in the poll beating retired general Prabowo, who got 44.5%, the General Election Commission (KPU) said on Tuesday.
However, after the announcement, Prabowo insisted that there had been widespread falsification of results in favor of the incumbent.
Thousands of his supporters demonstrated in the capital this week to protest against the result.
KPU has maintained that the election was free and fair as confirmed by independent observers.
