President Muhammadu Buhari while still in London United Kingdom (UK) has condoled with the family of Queen Elizabeth II over the demise of her husband, Prince Philip.

The Duke of Edinburg died this morning at Windsor Castle in England at the age of 99.

Buhari in his condolence message said the passage of the Prince was the end of an era.

The Nigerian leader said that Duke was one of the global figures whose contribution to the commonwealth cannot be quantified even after this generation.

In his statement, “Prince Philip was a great man in his own right who made enormous contributions to philanthropic activities and charities especially for wildlife conservation and youth development programs in more than 130 countries.”

Buhari noted that the prince's decades of marriage to the Queen was “an impressive record for any marriage at any level.”

He extended his condolence to the UK government, the Commonwealth members, and the family of the UK royalty.
