British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson's Conservative Party has on Friday secured the parliamentary majority with a landslide, after a snap election was called over Brexit.
According to Reuters, the Conservative Party won over 360 out of the 650 seats of the House of Commons, making it the largest win since Margaret Thatcher in 1987.
Main opposition Labour Party marked its worst result since 1935, losing 59 seats. Party leader, Jeremy Corbyn has said he will not be leading the party at the next election.
European leaders are today expected to charge EU negotiator Michel Barnier with negotiating a close trade deal with Britain.
According to the result, Johnson will be able to strike a Brexit deal through the parliament to meet up with the January 31st deadline.
Meanwhile, Johnson would govern for five years until he is obliged to call another election.
