President of Russia Federation, Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, 26th June 2019 unveiled a drone with bird-like features. The drone which was created by the military technicians from a unit set up by the leader aims to fool the enemy allowing the unmanned craft to sneak closer to key targets in war zones.

The owl drone is designed for reconnaissance in cold climates and uses lasers to target artillery and aircraft. After its sights have locked onto a target it can then be “taken out” by missiles, tanks and fighter jets.

Although the drone is slightly bigger than a real snowy owl which has a wingspan of almost five feet, it designers claim it will be much less visible than more conventional unmanned aircraft.

Reports have it that the drone weights five kilos with a flying time of 40 minutes and can be operated by one person.
