Armenian Prime Minister, Serzh Sargsyan on Sunday walked out of a televised meeting with the leader of a burgeoning opposition movement after days of rallies calling for his resignation. According to Al Jazeera, the protest movement, which has put thousands of people in the streets, is headed by opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan who has built and maintained a network of self-organising opposition supporters.

Prince Charles was approved as the successor to Queen Elizabeth as head of the Commonwealth at a meeting of the group’s heads of government in Windsor on Friday. “We recognize the role of the queen in championing the Commonwealth and its peoples,” the Commonwealth leaders said in a statement. “The next head of the Commonwealth shall be His Royal Highness Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales.”

An Italian local Catholic Church Priest, who reportedly gambled away more than 620,000 dollars of his parish money, has been subjected to therapy against gambling by church authorities. According to reports by the Corriere della Sera newspaper, Father Flavio Gobbo, 48, negotiated a plea bargain for a suspended two-year jail term for embezzlement.

Police evacuated an area in the heart of Berlin on Friday that includes the central train station, the Economy Ministry and a major museum as bomb disposal experts prepared to defuse a World War Two bomb. German rail operator Deutsche Bahn said it expected long-distance train transport at the central station to be disrupted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time (0800 to 1200 GMT/ 4 a.m to 8 a.m. ET). It said trains would stop at other stations in Berlin instead.

The Basque armed organisation, Eta has apologised to the victims of its decades-long conflict for independence, just days before an expected announcement of dissolution.

The group asked for "forgiveness" for killing people without "a direct participation in the conflict".

Spain's government said Eta was defeated politically and operationally and did not achieve any of its goals.

Miguel Diaz-Canel was formally elected as the country’s new president, becoming the first leader of the Caribbean island in six decades who is not named Castro which marked the end of an era. The silver-haired Diaz-Canel — a top Communist Party figure who has served as first vice president since 2013 — assumes power from Raul Castro, who himself took over from his elder brother Fidel , father of the 1959 revolution.
