UK Warns Citizens About Tanzania Demonstration

The United Kingdom foreign office, has warned its citizens to keep away from large crowds in Tanzania tomorrow April 25, ahead of a rumoured anti-government demonstration.

The statement reads in part:

"You should take care, be aware of your surroundings and avoid large crowds or public demonstrations. Make sure you have a means of communication with you at all times and monitor local media for updates."

Tanzania has been gripped by talk of a mass protest against President Joseph Magufuli for weeks.

There were scenes of jubilation on Monday in the Armenian capital Yerevan after protests forced the resignation of Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan.

Opposition supporters accused Mr Sargsyan, who was made prime minister last week after serving 10 years as president, of clinging to power.

"The street movement is against my tenure. I am fulfilling your demand," Mr Sargsyan said in a statement.

French President Emmanuel Macron warned against showing any weakness towards Vladimir Putin while insisting he wants to work with the Russian strongman — in remarks broadcast Sunday on the eve of his state visit to Washington.

“He’s strong and smart. But don’t be naive. He’s obsessed by interference in our democracies,” Putin told Fox News Sunday, ahead of his departure for the United States, where Russia stands accused of meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

French industrialist Vincent Bolloré was taken into custody on Tuesday morning at the premises of the judicial police in Nanterre, France. According to French media company, Le Monde, the billionaire businessman is being investigated for influence peddling and corruption in Africa, specifically the conditions under which he obtained two of the sixteen container terminals in the ports of Lomé and Conakry, in 2010.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have left hospital after the arrival of their third child.

The new prince, who was born at St Mary's Hospital, London, at 11:01 BST, weighing 8lb 7oz, is fifth in line to the throne.

Earlier Prince George and Princess Charlotte visited their younger brother at the Lindo Wing.

Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed their third child — a prince — on Monday, Kensington Palace announced. “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs,” the statement said. “The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.”
