After weeks of where the body of the late Robert Mugabe will be laid to rest, the former Zimbabwe leader will now be buried in his country home in Borrowdale, Harare.

In a statement made available on Thursday, Information Minister Nick Mangwana said the change was in line with policy “to respect the wishes of families of deceased heroes”. The statement further disclosed that Mugabe's final requests were for his wife, Grace Mugabe, to never leave his coffin during the funeral and up until the point when he was buried.

Recall that the government of Zimbabwe had resisted his family’s wish for him to be buried in his home region, deciding that he should lie in Heroes Acre; a national monument and burial ground. The family eventually consented, but on Thursday the government backtracked.
