The President of South Africa, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, has apologized to President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerians in general over the xenophobic attacks in his country.
Punch reports that the apology was delivered to President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Monday by Ramaphosa’s special envoy, Mr. Jeff Radebe. A meeting between Buhari and Radebe has just ended at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Meanwhile, a statement at the weekend by Khusela Diko, spokesperson to the President, Cyril Ramaphosa indicates that President Buhari will undertake a state visit to South Africa in October.
The statement explained that the visit would present an opportunity for both countries to jointly develop responses to challenges affecting people and businesses in South Africa and Nigeria.
