Following a fall out between the transitional military council and the civilian opposition in Sudan, the United States top diplomat for Africa is set to visit Sudan to meet with both parties to urge talks.
This was made public by the U.S Department on Monday.
The fall out was after Sudanese security forces invaded a sit-in movement, which had been the prime focus of their protest.
The U.S assistant secretary for Africa, Tibor Nagy will also meet with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed to discuss a political solution for Sudan, as efforts by the PM to mediate between the military council and the protest movement
According to the U.S Department, Nagy will urge parties to collectively provide a stable conducive environment as well as call for the termination of attacks against civilians, before traveling to South Africa and Mozambique.
