African leaders and their European counterparts meet in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan, to dilate on how to solve some mutual problems ranging from youth unemployment, security and migration.

Under the auspices of the 5th African Union (A.U.) and European Union (E.U.) summit, the leaders will meet over a two day period between Wednesday November 29 to Thursday November 30.

The Board of Commissioners of Liberia’s National Elections Commission (NEC) has upheld Tuesday’s ruling of NEC Dispute Hearing Officer which dismissed complaints of fraud against the Oct. 10 presidential elections.

The hearing officer, Mr Muana Ville, had trashed the complaints filed by the Liberty Party (LP) and its presidential candidate, Mr Charles Brumskine, for lack of evidence.

The complainants are seeking a rerun of the Oct. 10 elections, which they alleged were marred by massive fraud and irregularities perpetrated by the elections commission.

In its ruling delivered on Friday and published on the NEC website, the board said the complainants failed to prove their allegation of fraud against the commission.

The Government of Rwanda says the country is negotiating with Israel to take in over 10,000 African asylum seekers. The Foreign Minister of Rwanda, Louise Mushikiwabo stated this on Friday in an interview with The New Times. He however disclosed that both countries are yet to reach an agreement especially on the number of Africans that would be taken in for resettlement.

Authorities in Egypt, have launched airstrikes on “terrorist outposts” and vehicles after attackers massacred more than 300 people in northern Sinai mosque, the military said Saturday.

More than 100 others were injured in the Friday assault on the al Rawdah Sufi mosque in Bir al-Abed, believed to be the deadliest terror attack on the country’s soil.

“The Egyptian Air Force pursued the terrorist elements, discovered and destroyed a number of vehicles that carried out the brutal terrorist killings, and killed all terrorists inside those vehicles,” military spokesman Tamer Rifai said in a statement Saturday.

235 worshippers have reportedly lost their lives after insurgents perpetrated an explosive and gun attack on al-Rawda mosque in the town of Bir al-Abed, near al-Arish in Egypt's North Sinai province, during Friday prayers.

The attack has been described as the deadliest since an Islamist insurgency in the peninsula was stepped up in 2013.

Pictures from the scene depicts gory images of killed victims inside the mosque which was visited by mostly followers of Sufism, or Islamic mysticism. Also about 100 other people were reportedly wounded.

Emmerson Mnangagwa has been sworn in as the President of Zimbabwe following the resignation of former President, Robert Mugabe. Mnangagwa's swearing in ceremony was witnessed by thousands of Zimbabweans who streamed into Harare's National Sports Stadium to witness the former Vice President take the oath of office.
