Nigerian-American Julius Onah has been slated by Marvel Studios to direct Captain America 4, the first since Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson officially took over the mantle. However, the movie doesn't have a name or release date yet.

According to reports, Onah who will join "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier" creator Malcolm Spellman and series staff writer Dalan Musson has signed to direct the next Captain America film that will pick up some time after Sam Wilson’s confrontation with John Walker and the Flag Smashers.

Onah made his feature film directorial debut with 2015’s The Girl Is In Trouble, after directing several short narrative and documentary films. He directed The Cloverfield Paradox and his third film, Luce, which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.

He is also attached to direct the Jean-Michel Basquiat biopic Samo Lives, which he co-wrote, and the college admissions film Bad Genius.

As regards Captain America 4, no other details have been released, but it’s quite possible Marvel may have more news about it to share at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
