Chimamanda, Malala Others Listed On BBC's 100 Most Inspiring Women Of 2021

Renowned Nigerian author and feminist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has been named among the BBC list of 100 inspiring and impactful women in the world for 2021.

Chimamanda was listed under the 'Culture and Education' category alongside 30 other women.

The BBC's 100 Most inspiring Women's list is an annual list aimed at inspiring people by sharing stories of trailblazing women across the World.

Commenting, BBC said, “This year 100 Women is highlighting those who are hitting ‘reset’; women playing their part to reinvent our society, our culture, and our world.”

It added that women from Afghanistan make up half of this year's list, noting that the list included a diverse range of female figures from leaders in Arts, Politics, and business to everyday heroes fighting for what they believe in, adding that this year.

Others on the list include Youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate winner, Malala Yousafzai; Samoa's first female Prime minister, Fiame Naomi Mata'afa; Head of the Vaccine Confidence Project, Professor Heidi J Larson; and Turkish writer Elif Safak.

Also on the list is businesswoman, philanthropist, and advocate for women and girls, Melinda Gates who chairs the world's largest philanthropic organization, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
