The United States President, Donald Trump as he is set to vacate office today as the 45th President of the United States has pardoned over 100 people, including American Rapper, Lil Wayne, and Kodak Black.

Billbord.com reported that Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a loaded firearm on a private jet while on his way to Miami in December `2020.

The rapper Wayne as a convicted felon charged over illegal firearm possession in 2007 would have a risk 10yrs prison term when sentenced on Jan 28, 2021, as earlier scheduled.

Although his pardon did not come as a surprise when the wrapper was said to have endorsed President Trump for a second term in his re-election bid last October where he posed with the president for a picture that attracted a backlash from his social media fans.

Carter wrote on his Instagram page with a picture of him and Trump, “Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he has done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured me he will and can get it done,”.

According to the report, on December 23, 2019, an anonymous tip led Miami police officers and federal agents to search Carter’s jet where they found the loaded gun, in addition to reportedly cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, heroin, pain killers, and prescription-strength cough syrup, along with nearly $26,000 in cash. But no drug charge was pressed against him.

Similarly, Kodak Black, Bill Kahan Kapri, was also serving his jail term in federal prison after he pleaded guilty of possession of a firearm when he was accosted at the Canadian-American border in March 2020.

President Trump also pardoned his former campaign manager, Steve Benson, Kwame Kilpatrick Detroit Mayor. However, Wikileak Edward Snowden and Julian Assange did not make it to the list.
