Multi-dimensional American icon, Beyonce through her foundation, BeyGOOD has partnered with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) to award a $10,000 grant to Black-owned small businesses in order to provide economic empowerment for black businesses amidst recent negative events.

The NAACP announced this on its website, saying "Over the last couple of months, the pandemic and outpours for justice throughout the Black community and across the country has been felt in every imaginable area of our lives, including in how our local businesses continue to operate,"

"The challenges of Black business owners navigating in the climate cannot be understated, as the effects of uprisings across the nation have led to many businesses being placed in dire straits due to damages and other small business needs," the statement added.

The singer has made progressive moves to help black and brown communities including partnering with Twitter's Jack Dorsey to donate $6 million on his #startsmall initiative to community-based organizations during the COVID-19.

Also, she partnered with her mother, Tina Knowles to sensitize and encourage people to seek free COVID-19 tests.

Beyonce in April collaborated with Houston rapper, Megan Thee Stallion on the remix of her hit song 'Savage', and all proceeds were given to a Houston non-profit organization to help communities during the pandemic.

Potential applicants for the Black-Owned Small Business Impact Fund grant are expected to provide their property damage or replacement estimates. The grant is aimed at businesses located in Atlanta, New York, Houston, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis. Also, application closes Saturday, July 18, 2020.
