British Singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran has been named 'UK's Official Number 1 Artist of the Decade' following a record-breaking run at No.1 on the official music charts for 79 weeks.

He also won the 'Official Chart Record Breaker' award for most number 1 singles and album between 2010 and 2019.

“At the start of the decade, he was a little known (albeit highly rated) young 18-year-old lad from Suffolk - but his catalogue of achievements since then is genuinely remarkable,” Martin Talbot, chief executive of the Official Charts Company, said.

In a statement, Ed said, “Thank you to everyone who’s supported me over the past 10 years, especially my amazing fans. Here’s to the next 10.”

Among Sheeran's hit singles include 'The A-Team', 'Thinking Out Loud', 'Perfect', 'Shape of You'.

Also, Adele won first and second place for Top 100 Biggest Albums of the Decade for both her '21' and '25' albums, which won her 6 Grammys.

Previous winner include Justin Bieber and Paul McCartney.
