The Counsel to Stephanie Otobo in a lawsuit involving Apostle Johnson Suleiman of the Omega Fire Ministry has withdrawn from the case following the emergence of video wherein his client was seen confessing in church that she was bribed by some prominent politicians and pastors to blackmail the Suleiman.
Stephanie had accused the Apostle of maintaining an amorous relationship with her, stressing that he had even given her a substance that led to the abortion of a pregnancy he was responsible for. She also claimed that the Pastor had lodged her in several hotels within and outside the country for sexual purposes. She also accused the Pastor of having sexual relationship with some Nollywood actresses.
The singer who is based in Canada however shocked Nigerians last month when she openly confessed in Omega Fire Ministry that she was paid to blackmail the pastor, explaining that all her previous allegations were false. Meanwhile, Festus Keyamo who had represented her in Court withdrew from the case few weeks after telling newsmen that he was unaware of her client's confession.
According to him;
“We saw the video online on Saturday morning but we are yet to get any formal statement from Stephanie confirming or debunking the video. “We are lawyers and we only act on our client’s instructions. So, we don’t have any comment on the matter. No comment, we are waiting to hear from our client first before we know the next line of action,”
A lawyer in his chamber who confirmed his withdrawal said the Keyamo withdrew from the case because she took a different turn without informing them.
