The Recording Academy has announced a new date and location for the 2022 Grammy Awards, following the surge of the Omicron variant. The Awards is now slated for April 3, 2022, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The Recording Academy had earlier postponed the awards ceremony which was scheduled to hold on January 5th, 2022 at the Crypto.com Arena. This is the second year in a row that the Grammy Awards have been postponed.
Last year, the Grammys were also scheduled for January 31 but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Comedian and host of “Daily Show” Trevor Noah is still scheduled to host the 2022 Grammy Awards.
Vigil360news reports that the nominations list for the 2022 Grammy Awards was released in November 2021 with Nigerian musicians like Wizkid bagging two nominations for Essence and Made In Lagos album.
Also, Femi and Made Kuti were also nominated under the Best Global Music Album category.
