US actress Tanya Roberts, 65-year-old former Bond girl was mistakenly reported dead after she collapsed while walking her dogs on 24 December 2021, at her home and was hospitalized at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre. Her publicist, Mike Pingel, mistakenly reported her death on Monday, leading multiple outlets, to publish stories saying she had died. He had said earlier that Roberts collapsed in her home and was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Pingel said Robert’s husband, Lance O’Brien, told him that he held his wife and she “seemed for him to slip away”.
The earlier announcement of Roberts' death was met with tributes from fans and former colleagues.
Mr. Pingel informed media houses he mistakenly announced Roberts' death following information he received from her husband. But a call from the hospital confirmed that she was still alive on Monday morning.
She remains in the ICU in a serious condition, he said.
Tanya best known for her roles in the James Bond film A View to a Kill and the final season of Charlie’s Angels, had her big break when she replaced Shelly Hack in Charlie’s Angels, joining Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd as third ‘Angel’ Julie.
Tanya's husband of 18 years, Lance O'Brien, revealed he was unable to visit her in the hospital because of COVID restrictions. However, hospital staff made an exception when they realized the actress likely wouldn't pull through.
