The Federal Government has appointed Nollywood actress and producer, Stephanie Okereke- Linus as the National Organized Private Sector in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (OPS-WASH) Ambassador. The actress made this known via her Instagram page, saying “Good Morning Amazonians and Warlords, I have been appointed as National OPS-WASH Ambassador by the Honourable Minister of Water Resources. She promised to challenge Nigerians to make good hygiene changes as well as inspire citizen participation.


OPS-WASH is a multi-stakeholder intervention between the Government and private sector in efforts to end open defecation and other environmental hygiene issues in Nigeria.


In his address, Engr. Suleiman Hussein Adamu urged the new Ambassador to inspire Nigerians and encourage them towards taking responsibility for their environment.


He expressed confidence in her capabilities following the success in her 'Hygiene First Campaign' which she launched in May 2020.
