Veteran American actor-comedian, Jerry Stiller has on Monday died of natural causes, his son actor Ben Stiller confirmed the death in a tweet. " I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad," Ben said.

Jerry Stiller was largely known for his role in the 90s sitcom 'Seinfeld' as Frank Costanza. He was also known for his role in 'The King of Queens' sitcom as Arthur Spooner.

Stiller launched his career alongside his wife Anne Meara in 1950s, establishing their comedy team which later landed them 36 appearances on 'The Ed Sullivan Show'.

He also performed in movies like 'Hairspray', 'The Taking of Pelham One Two Three' and appeared in TV Shows like 'Murder She Wrote', and 'Law and Order'.

Stiller wrote an autobiography, 'Married To Laughter' which gave an insight of his over 50 years marriage to his soul mate Meara before she died in 2015.

The late comedic actor also created and co-created some 'Seinfeld' episodes including the "bro," a brassiere for men; a Korean War cook who inflicted food poisoning on his entire unit; and an ever-simmering salesman controlling his explosive temper with the shouted mantra, "Serenity now!"

Meanwhile, friends, fans and colleagues have paid tributes to the late actor on social media.
