Popular Nigerian comedian and skirt maker, Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni has called on authorities to beam their searchlight on sexual predators who demand sex for roles in the entertainment industry as a way of sanitizing the profession. Mr. Macaroni said when allegations of such crop up, it should be investigated and offenders are made to face the music otherwise the crime will continue. Adedayo made this advocacy while having an interview in Lagos saying allegations of such gravity should not be swept under the carpet.

Macaroni is popular on the Instagram comedy for his role as “Sugar daddy” with the popular phrase “Ooin” and “You are doing well”.
While Speaking against the menace, Macaroni said, “Absolutely disgusting, absolutely abominable act, I’ve always spoken against it, even before I attained this position being a public figure.

He added, “I have kicked against it, I have a series of tweets against it, I have lots of content to speak against it, it is highly disrespectful and highly degrading, it reeks of how much we have lost touch with humanity.

According to him, producers should hunt talent based on competence but not the other way round, saying that is the only thing that will keep the industry flourishing, ‘how many people will you sleep with’? He queried.

He demanded that “There should be consequences for reprehensible behavior to do better. If not, if they are found guilty, I want to believe there are appropriate punishments to address this.

In a similar manner he lamented the crime cut across board as in some quarters it’s not about sex alone, he said people demand money to be given the job if they have money will they be looking for jobs, we shouldn’t ruin the lives of others too,” Macaroni said.

On the other hand, he called on the upcoming artist to stop being desperate and rather chose to grow gradually so that their success story will be consolidated.

Narrating his success story, Macaroni said, “I started acting as far back as 2012 or even 2010, but by God’s grace, people started to know me in 2019, don’t be in a hurry.

“Time and chance happen to all man, continue with your journey, success will not come to you on a platter of gold, you have to work for it.

Meanwhile, he calls on the upcoming artists to refuse to be distracted and compromise their human dignity for a role, he said hard work pays, continues to press he insists. NAN
