Popular video entertainment and internet company, the MultiChoice Group has denied media reports that it has perfected plans to introduce the pay-per-view service to the teeming Nigerian subscribers currently using the DSTV or GOtv. The Company made its position known on Saturday in a statement issued to newsmen in Lagos.
It said the reports circulating across the various social media platforms did not emanate from the group and assured that if there were plans to introduce such services in the country, subscribers would be duly informed.
“MultiChoice wishes to correct the news currently being circulated and states that at no time was it announced that a Pay Per View service was about to be launched”
"Before the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor boxing fight, we explained to journalists at a media briefing that premium subscribers on the DStv platform would watch the fight as part of their package, while subscribers to pay television services in the USA would need to pay an additional US$99 on Pay per view basis to access the fight."
The statement claimed that this information may have been misconstrued by some subscribers to mean that MultiChoice was introducing new services in the country.
