Members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers of Nigeria (IPMAN) have called off the supposed shutdown of filling stations as disclosed by the National Secretary, Alhaji Garba Pasali.
Garba revealed on a phone conversation the was prompt intervention by the management of Nigeria National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC), the National Assembly, the Police headquarters, some officials at the presidency, and the Minister of Justice, pushed for the hold of the planned shutdown.
"Following our discussion with the concerned stakeholders at the national level of IPMAN, it was resolved that our members that are planning to shut down filling stations are advised to put a halt."
"In the light of that, the national Secretariat of IPMAN is urging all our members that have planned to shut down filling stations, across States and zones to put off the plan and give the discussions the benefit of a doubt."
The National Secretary noted that steps have been taken and high-level discussions at the national Secretariat were reached, and also appreciated members of the Association for her understanding and all state actors who have intervened.
