Nigeria/Ghana: FG Delegation To Visit Ghana Over Traders’ Conflict

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed a ministerial delegation to be sent to Ghana to resolve the lingering conflict between Nigerian traders and the Ghanaian authorities. In a statement on Monday by the Special Assistant to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment on Media, Mr. Ifedayo Sayo, disclosed that the minister, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo will lead the delegation to Ghana.


Mr. Sayo explained that the delegation including relevant stakeholders is scheduled to go on the visit between May 31 and June 1, and will be engaging in dialogue with Ghanaian authorities in a bid to proffer a holistic solution to the issue.


Vigil360news reports that Nigerian traders residing in Ghana had in 2020 expressed dismay over the insecurity of their goods, products, and livelihoods in Ghana and appealed to the Federal Government to evacuate them back to Nigeria.
